Confronting my ignorance

Challenges in business are a given, but it’s our response to them that defines our trajectory. Looking beyond the immediate obstacle, there lies a realm of opportunity and learning.

Being a man of a certain age I find that I am constantly confronted with issues when using IT. For example this blog of mine (which no one ever reads, heaven knows why I persevere) causes endless frustration. I wanted to have a new site, well, rename this site as I do not really like the odd name I gave it, but all I ended up with, thanks, I am sure, to my ignorance of how to navigate all the many options available, was a different look and a site that is unfamiliar, harder for me to navigate and far more frustrating than the original. I was just comfortable with what I had before and now I am really annoyed at this mess I have created.

I realised when I began this particular blog I don’t really have a term to use for my frustrating nemesis. Do people still use the term IT? Even typing this I have difficulties. I don’t like this font, yet cannot work out how to alter it and the template (is that the right term?) wants me to choose a block – whatever that is. I think I know but all I want to do right now is complete this section. I shall now attempt to alter the font.

Back now having failed to work out this most basic thing. still getting bothered by all the rubbish about blocks and although I did find where it was supposed to tell me how to change the font, it didn’t. I could alter the text to read up and down rather than across, but simply make it physically easier to read, not a chance!

Have a menu up at the side right now where I can do everything ever in the universe, except I cannot find how to change the font. I can set up a “Query loop” whatever that is or a “Gravatar” – sounds like a villain in a sci -fi franchise and a host of other incomprehensible terms, but no font change.

Guess I shall leave it for now, probably lose it as I try to save it for a later edit (if I can manage that).
