Crassness and the road to WW3

The problem with the world nowadays is that it is rapidly becoming more and more unbalanced. It never was well balanced but a single person and his devoted support has driven a wedge between long term and sound allies. NATO is fundamentally at risk.

Now that it has been “jokingly” hinted that Iceland is in the frame as well it does appear that there is no US government interest in the purpose of NATO any more. I expect millions of US citizens really appreciate NATO and its purpose but the administration of cronies and toadies (Trumps favourite type of people) will kowtow to their boss as much as they can.

The northern nations are gearing up and it is perhaps time for Starmer to put his foot down with a firm hand and tell Trump and speak to the US nation about what is happening in the world because of US lack of concern about NATO. Clearly we can all see that the benefits for China and Russia of this fall out are incalculable. The outcomes for the US are less beneficial. Not everyone loves the USA as much as it would have liked to have been loved, but should Trump actually make a move for Greenland in any way other than honestly and diplomatically the whole of the population of Europe (with few exceptions ) will turn against the US.

Sadly the man’s grotesque narcissism and lack of any sense that his behaviour and attitude are not absolutely right suggest that nothing anyone says will alter his approach to the world. He is the single largest factor in unbalancing the world and creating a far less secure and safe future for everyone. It is no surprise as he told everyone what he would do once he was back at the White House. Now the only people who can save the world are the spineless Republicans in Congress, the misguided believers in MAGA and the fractured and damaged Democrats. A rather bleak picture.
